Day 024 - Scaling Wolobobo Hill: A Thrilling Trek to Witness the Majesty of Mount Inerie in Bajawa

Updated: May 28, 2023

Day 024 (25 Jan 2023) - Trekking up Wolobobo Hill at Bajawa to see Mount Inerie

DAY 024 (25 JAN 2023) – Stayed overnight at Bajawa. Woke up early and headed to Wolobobo Hill - about 9 km from Bajawa town center.

Trekked all the way up to the viewpoint – got a good view of the amazing Mount Inerie and its beautiful surroundings. Mount Inerie is one of the highest volcanoes in Flores. From up here, I could see the Wawomudha Crater Lake that was formed from a small volcanic eruption not too long ago.

At 1,700 meters above sea level, the top of Wolobobo Hill is often hidden by clouds - giving you the feeling that you are on top of the clouds and you can touch them. However, I was quite unlucky as there were no clouds today! The air was very cool and breezy as the temperature was 14.5 °C.

Before leaving for my next destination, stopped by a Hindu Temple but couldn’t go in as it was closed.
