Day 419 (24 Feb 2024) - Somoto, Nicaragua to Leon, Nicaragua
DAY 419 (24 FEB 2024) – Yesterday, I met the hostel owner, Mr Ariel and spoke to him via the online translator, about my motorbike tour and my objective to plant trees. Despite the language barrier, he understood my intentions and expressed his interest.
Since Mr Ariel owns a piece of land near his hostel within the Somoto Canyon Park, we headed there in the morning for a tree-planting activity. We were also joined by members of his staff.
Together, we successfully planted 3 trees sponsored by Mr Ariel, namely the “flor de francia”, the “hoja de aire” and the “Jardin sun ombre es china”.
I am very thankful to Mr Ariel and his staff for their hospitality and for supporting my tree-planting initiatives. I am very happy to have planted a tree right on the 2nd day of my arrival in Nicaragua.
