Day 199 - Crossing The Longest Bridge in Denmark: A 4-Hour Journey from Aarhus to Copenhagen,Denmark

Day 199 (19 July 2023) - Aarhus to Copenhagen, Denmark

DAY 199 (19 JULY 2023) – In the morning, I left Aarhus for a 4 hour journey to Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark. Instead of taking the ferry, I decided to take the longer route by road.

I crossed the longest bridge in Denmark, known as the Great Belt Bridge (Storebaeltsbroen), which stretches for about 20 km long. It was a nice double-laned highway with a maximum speed of 120 km per hour. The bridge toll came to about DKK 140 (RM 96).

The bridge connects the Danish islands of Funen and Zealand, as well as the small island called Sprogo, in the middle of the Great Belt. The design of this suspension bridge allows ships to pass underneath the bridge without any obstruction.

I arrived at Copenhagen and stayed at the ‘Globalhagen’ hostel for a cost of RM 140 per night.

Much like Sweden, I found that people in Denmark too travel around the city in bicycles. I spent the evening exploring this beautiful city.
