Day 192 (12 July 2023) - Henningsvaer to Lodingen to Bognes to Mo i Rana, Norway
DAY 192 (12 JULY 2023) – After spending 2 days at the beautiful fishing village of Henningsvaer, I left for a 2 hour ride to Lodingen.
I then boarded a ferry for a 1 hour journey to Bognes. It cost me 74 NOR (RM 34) just for motorbike transport while passenger ride was free-of-charge. No booking was required and payment could be done on the spot.
After arriving at Bognes, I rode my motorbike for a 5 hour ride to Mo i Rana, a city south of the Arctic Circle. This scenic route included beautiful mountains some snow remnants from last winter, amazing lakes as well as waterfalls and streams.
The Arctic Circle is an imaginary line of latitude that circles Earth’s northernmost end, and is often used as a reference point to express proximity to the Arctic Region, which is mostly covered by the Arctic Ocean with a partially frozen surface.
The northern part of Norway falls within this circle, and during winter, it has an arctic landscape that includes glaciers, icebergs, sea ice and permafrost (soil and rock that remains frozen for years).
