Day 139 (20 May 2023) - Seoul, South Korea
Day 139 (20 MAY 2023) – I visited the N (Namsan) Seoul Tower, an iconic landmark in South Korea. It serves as an observation and communication tower.
Since it is located at the top of Namsan Mountain, I had to take a shuttle bus up as no cars or motorbikes allowed up. I got to see a bird’s eye view of the busy city of Seoul.
I also walked around the streets of Seoul and came across a large group of people protesting peacefully. Apparently, the protest had to do with Japan's Nuclear Wastewater Discharge Plan, and it got coverage on the main news channels.
Later, I visited the Bukchon Hanok Village, a Korean traditional village located at the top of a hill. This place is 600 years old and is still preserved today as one of Seoul’s major tourist sites. I got to see many traditional houses, also known as ‘Hanok’, built along side narrow alleys. The architecture of these houses are uniquely beautiful.
