Day 134 (15 May 2023) - Farewell & Thank You, Japan. A summary of my beautiful experience in Japan.
DAY 134 (15 MAY 2023) – Today is my last day in Japan. I finally arrived in Fukuoka. I fuelled up my bike for the last time in Japan. In the evening, I strolled around the streets of Fukuoka and had a wonderful indian meal for dinner at a Nepalese restaurant.

Reflecting on my experiences in Japan, I have spent 29 days in the land of the rising sun! In fact, I even captured the sunrise while I was on the plane before landing at Narita Airport!
Japan has been smooth sailing and a pleasant experience. Despite the language barrier, I have encountered many friendly and helpful people, even in my hour of need! I have visited some of the most beautiful landscapes unique to Japan, including the volcanic hot springs. I also took the chance to visit the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombing memorials. It remains the only use of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict.

I began my journey from Narita Airport, riding up north and taking a ferry to Hokkaido Island. I then rode my bike visiting several places at Hokkaido island, before reaching all the way to the northern most point of Japan!
Then, I travelled back to Honshu island of Japan (mainland) via ferry. I even rode through the busy streets of Tokyo while heading towards Nagoya. Subsequently, I headed to Hiroshima and Fukuoka where my ferry ride to South Korea was delayed by a week due to public holidays.
Instead of staying idle, I took a round trip to various parts of Kyushu Island back to Fukuoka – I even managed to visit Nagasaki and Omura, where I planted a Sakura tree with my new Japanese friends!

I have travelled a total distance of 4972 km throughout Japan, covering 3 out of 4 main islands of Japan, namely Hokkaido, Honshu and Kyushu.
