Day 126 (07 May 2023) - Miyazaki to Oita, Japan
DAY 126 (07 MAY 2023) – Left Miyazaki for a 3 hour (176 km) ride to Oita. This was another rainy trip all the way up to my destination. However, it was not that cold since the temperature was 17 C.
Despite the weather, I had a pleasant ride the last 2 days – riding through mountainous scenic routes, surrounded by so much greenery!
I stopped by a road station (rest area) known as ‘Michinoeki Ume’ or ‘Road Station Ume’ to have my lunch. This road station is situated on a hill at the border of Oita prefecture and Miyazaki prefecture. It has a breath- taking view of the surrounding forest with different shades of lush greenery!
Just next to this road station is the Utagenka Big Bridge, overlooking a huge beautiful lake below the bridge. The rainy weather just added to the ambience. There is apparently a camping site nearby with cabin facilities.
