Day 120 (01 May 2023) - Nagoya to Kyoto to Tottori, Japan
DAY 120 (01 MAY 2023) – Today, I went on a bike trip to Kyoto together with Sri and 2 of his friends, Kumaran and Thinesh.
Sri rides a Ducati motorcycle, while Thinesh rides a Kawasaki Versys 1000cc motorbike and Kumaran rides a Harley Davidson. All of them are working together at a car company and all three of them can speak and read Japanese very well.
We rode on our individual bikes for a two hour ride from Nagoya to Kyoto.
Kyoto was the old capital city of Japan. Kyoto is known for its classic Buddhist temples and gardens, Shinto shrines, imperial palaces and traditional wooden houses.
We visited the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, also known as Sagano Bamboo Forest. It is a natural forest consisting of mostly ‘moso bamboo’. There are several pathways for tourists and visitors to walk through and enjoy the beautiful landscape. By night, we left for a 3 hour ride to another city called Tottori.
