Day 105 (16 Apr 2023) - Vietnam is my fifth destination on this solo bike world tour 2023!
DAY 105 (16 APR 2023) – Arrived at Vietnam early in the morning for a stopover - will be taking a connecting flight to Japan. Since it was a midnight flight, I took the opportunity to tour the city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. So, I hired a Grab motorbike rider to take me to various places around the city at a cost of RM30 for 2 hours.
Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is the largest city in Vietnam. There were many historical buildings and landmarks with French colonial architecture – all well preserved.
I also visited the War Remnants Museum in the heart of the city. It contains exhibits relating to the First Indochina War and Vietnam War. It was interesting to see the old time military equipments on display at the museum.
Later at midnight, I boarded the connecting flight to Japan. This is perhaps, the shortest time I’ve spent in a country thus far on this journey around the world!
