Day 028 (29 Jan 2023) - Riding 6 hours from Kupang to Atambua!
DAY 028 (29 JAN 2023) – Left Kupang at 7 am together with a friend, Fuad, who is a Taekwando Trainer. We rode on separate bikes for 3 hours all the way to Singalang Nikiniki, about 132 km away. He introduced me to his friend, Yoyo who welcomed me with a ‘Selendang’ as a of symbol of brotherhood. We had a good chat over tea.
I then continued my ride for another 3 hours heading for Atambua, a town near the Timur-Leste border. Along the way, I stopped at Kefamenanu to meet another biker group known as ‘Sahabat Kreatif Biinmaffo’. While riding, it was interesting to see a stall along the road selling petrol in a bottle, costing Rp 13,000 (RM 3.68) per liter.
I finally reached Atambua before dark. As I reached my hotel at Atambua, I met another biker group known as ‘Classic Tapal Batas’, who also welcomed me with a ‘Selendang’.
Tomorrow, I will be crossing the border to Timor-Leste.
